Anna Tierney

Flowing, acrylic on canvas, 161 cm x 77 cm, 2020.

My work explores consciousness as a field of interconnected forces — where mind, body, and environment are experienced as a unified continuum. Through abstraction, I investigate rhythm, energy, and the subtle dynamics that shape perception and inner experience.

The series Flowing reflects on our relationship with the natural world. It considers the parallels between internal states and ecological systems, suggesting that personal awareness and environmental responsibility are deeply intertwined.

Rather than presenting fixed narratives, my practice invites contemplation — a slowing down — where material, gesture, and space become sites for reflection on balance, presence, and interconnection.
